Knowing someone
Tough topic..isnt it ? oh yeah..i love to do the unusual. Yes, i think knowing someone is becomes key aspect our life as we start gaining conscience..i am sure each one us takes decisions of his/her life based on knowing the background of the decision related to it...may its materialistic or humanitarian in nature..I am sure people will agree that its crucial to know someone, before you decide to believe on that person. At the same time our society has estranged by this thought..

Our Faith
I strongly believe that the word "FAITH" has a new level of meaning today. People continue to believe on their respective God and Godess and we guys continue to treat them like a group of herd. Visit any pilgrimage and you will be treated like an animal. People dont respect each other inspite of worshipping common idol. I have visited Vaishno Devi, Shirdi, Shani Signapur and i had similar experience. People are just hungry about making money at those places and still want to be counted in God's best books.
I recall a tag line on a school wall, which said : A man asked GOD, Please tell me how can i see you ? God replied - try to help someone in need and once that person smiles, that will be my face. Its pitty, that we continue to earn so much and still have nothing. We can pay thousands to doctors ? to fix our health..we can pay thousands to plan a holiday trip, just to escape from daily busy life..but we cant help a person in distress..isnt that sad.
Coming back to my point regarding faith, I was very dissapointed to observe people responsible for the welfare of these religious places are earning mullah and they have given their 100% to ensure their buisness of selling god's encounter, continues to flourish. Innocense and serenity has no meaning, while visiting vaishno devi, i met a senior citizen, he was atleast 75 yrs old. We both started from katra together, he was walking baby steps..i started my trek and slowly i reached Bhavan..to my surprise, the guy ahead of me in the queue was the same senior citizen..I was simply amazed with power of "FAITH"..it was just his "FAITH" which gave him the will power to trek 12KM and still reach faster than me..I consider myself quite younger as compared to that Sr citizen..still he was able to make it before mw..which was simply amazing..people say that " Mata ne bulaya hai"..i dont agree..its purely your consciousness..
I dont know, i have been quite disturbed to observe our pilgrimages become "Commercial Hub" for money making and everyone is o.k with it. Worst part being our so called VIP's and VVIP's. They have special access to meet god, they dont even think once about thousands of people..queued for several hours..just to get a glimpse of their holy idol..simply terriffic..
Anyways, I still believe its our FAITH in Supreme Superpower which gives us the strength to fight our challenges and continue to :)

My Journey towards Success
At times, i quietly peep into my past life and try to realize the way things have changed for me. It was very tough for a fresh bcom graduate with CCNA certification to get a networking job. Oops..let me give you a background of my networking interest..I was undergoing a course from GNIIT and in my first semester, i had a subject called Networking Essentials, I was not a programming savvy guy and NETESS was a pleasant change in my curriculum, i was thrilled to know a different world of networks and that moment, i decided that i would like to pursue networks rather than programming. It proved to me a very tough decision as there was no one to guide me towards pursuing my new career, there was a very striking incident which happened during those days, which i still narrate to my folks..I was in my 2nd semester and I was trying to know about networks..one day i questioned my faculty regarding "Cisco"..you got to believe this ..He said "its a misprint" it should be "COSCO".. that's another story that after a year i was a CCNA and i met the same guy and showed him my certificate and told him..it was not COSCO..it was always"CISCO".. anyways..journey began from there..i was jubilant, excited and very passionate to achieve my goal of becoming a network engineer..reality check..it took me 24 interviews to get my first job..in the field of networking..i managed my money by working for citibank as Business Development Lead and my prime job was to sell personal loans to doctors..Coming back to my 25th interview..i got my first networking break in Utopia.Com..it was a small company with 20 employees and my prime job was to maintain computers and its network..trust me it was such an amazing feeling..while i touched a Cisco 800 Series router for the first time :)
Oops..i missed one more background story..while working for bank..i changed my job from citibank to Standard Chartered Bank and my new office was a dalhousie square..First day, while i entered bank..i checked with a guy regarding OBS department (Out Bound Sales)..the guy pointed me out to 1st floor..while moving towards stairs..i saw a room full of switches with green lights blinking and there was a guy sitting in midst of computers..someone told me that it was an IT room for bank..it was a mystical feeling ..i worked for six months in SC bank and every day, i use to pass through that IT room thinking...when i will get the chance to enter this room :(
well, i forgot to introduce my friend Nilkantha Lahiri...he is my best friend..i met him during my job interview at citibank and within couple of days at work..we became very good friends...NIL was a sales guy and had almost 4 years of experience in banking industry..Nil joined SC bank along with me and was very passionate about his work..He was aware that, i was not serious about the banking job and always wanted to be in networking field..I use to discuss lot about new things happening in the field of networking..although it was greek for him but he always showed interest in discussions and never made me feel that he was getting bored..I use to make him laugh like anything and very soon we realized that we became best friends..we went through tough times..while getting scolded by our team leaders for zero business..He always use to tell me that dont worry..one day you will sit in that IT room..

Relationship's Today
The word "Relationship" has found altogether different meaning in today's world. Modern world has accepted different verses of relationships and now we also have a status available in all popular websites, which says ' Complicated" as current status of relationships. Initially while creating my account with Orkut, I found this word called "complicated" and trust me ..its very true. In today's society, i find all relationships in complicated status. If i peep through 15 years back in Indian society..people never appreciated the idea of nuclear family and Joint family was considered pillar of society and family. while our society evolved with the help of modern thinkers and media, people realized that staying in nuclear families allows them with independence of life, which was not possible in joint families. While we observe more nuclear families in 2010 and joint families are loosing existence in rural India as well, we have been plagued by growing vacuum of managing relationships. While i meet people and listen to their thoughts for modern world, one thing which is commonly repeated by them is " We don't know how future generation will look at things " As a country of billion people, India celebrates more than 100 festivals every year ..do you think next generation will have that much time or interest to celebrate festivals. Now that raises a bigger question for our society as this marks a danger to country's heritage and culture ??
I read a book called " Cultural heritage of India" during my post graduation in Advertising and Marketing and it was quite insightful about our country, i would like to be honest here that initially i was just another bored student of that lecture but slowly i started taking keen interest..one of the important things that i learnt was" Hindu Society and its values have been passed on to us by our ancestors via Shruti and Smriti (Things that are heard and memories) and till date it continues..but i am not sure about future!
We have changed materialistic, greedy, hypo critic and these attributes portray a picture of relationships we manage in our society. Somehow its getting very difficult for us to stay "Contended" and I believe that's one of key reason behind changed society and changed relationships..we are not happy with what we have got..rather we are distressed with what our neighbours/relatives have..
